Our exquisitely tailored replica of the Victorian Era, British army, Irish Foot Guards Infantry tunic comes with the following salient features:
Type: Foot Guards — infantry regiment.
Introduced: 1900 (Queen Victoria’s reign).
Color: Scarlet melton wool (Branded/fine/100% natural fibers -not a synthetic blend, 85% wool, 12 oz. wt., mill dyed scarlet, soft, smmoth touch) fabric.
Facings (collar & cuffs): Dark royal blue (same specifications as the Scarlet fabric, only the color is dark royal blue)
Buttons: Arranged singly — the Irish Guards’ regimental distinction among the Guards Division (each Guards regiment has a different spacing pattern), in this one the buttons are spaced singly and not in 4’s, 2’s etc.
Collar detail: White lace edging with embroidered insignia.
Cuffs: Large pointed “Guards” pattern cuffs in dark blue with white lace decoration.
Shoulder straps: White lace with rank insignia.
Epaulettes: Flat, infantry pattern.
Lining: White cotton.
