The Small Wall Tent, as manufactured by us, is a standard U.S. Army issue from World War II (24-T-323 (small)), designed to provide semi-permanent shelter for officers, administrative sections, or small groups in the field. Its rectangular floor plan, straight vertical side walls, and pitched roof give more usable interior space compared to the pyramidal squad tent.
Made of heavy-duty olive drab cotton duck canvas (100% cotton canvas, less than 11 oz./ sq.yard, no synthetics used), the tent is supported by two upright poles, a ridgepole, and guy ropes with wooden pegs. The walls allowed cots, tables, and desks to be placed neatly against the sides, making it ideal for use as a field office, aid station, or living quarters.
The Small Wall Tent offered a balance between portability and interior comfort, and while heavier than a squad tent, it was far more practical for extended deployments.
