A faithful reproduction of the Boer War Khaki Serge Service Tunic, introduced around 1899 to replace the bright scarlet uniforms for active field use. Made from heavy khaki serge wool, this tunic provided durability and camouflage suited to the South African veldt. It features four patch pockets with scalloped flaps, stand-and-fall collar, shoulder straps, and brass general service buttons. The back is shaped for riding comfort and includes a vented skirt for mounted wear.
This tunic was worn with matching khaki trousers, puttees, and the iconic foreign service helmet (pith helmet). It became the foundation for later British khaki service dress adopted in World War I.
