19th–20th century highland white cotton/leather/military spats (boot covers)

These reproduction highland spats ( as in main product picture) are made from durable white cotton canvas and feature a button fastening on the outer side with a black elastic instep strap for secure fit. spats, or gaiters, were worn over shoes and around the ankle and lower calf to protect from mud and provide a neat, formal appearance with military and highland dress. these spats are ideal for re-enactors, collectors, and ceremonial wear.
