The WW2 British ARP Women’s Uniform was worn by female personnel serving in Britain’s civil defense organization between 1939 and 1945. These women worked tirelessly as air raid wardens, ambulance drivers, dispatch riders, and first aid workers during the Blitz and throughout the war. The uniform was both practical and symbolic of civilian courage on the home front.
Our version, as per specifications of the standard female ARP uniform, consists of a dark navy-blue / steel-grey wool serge tunic and matching skirt. The tunic is hip-length with a belted waist, buttoned front, pleated breast pockets, and epaulets on the shoulders. “ARP” is embroidered on the sleeve and shoulder strap, and black metal buttons plain. A matching skirt of straight or slightly flared cut was worn just below the knee.
Out door service, water resistant, blue greatcoat also available.
Constructed from durable wool serge or heavy cotton twill, the uniform provided warmth and professional appearance during long shifts in exposed conditions.
Uniform consists of Tunic, skirt and matching FS cap. Greatcoat available as a special feature.
Custom tailoring available at no extra cost.
