Our 100% accurate reproduction of the WW2 British Army Officer’s collarless service shirt, a garment worn beneath khaki drill or wool tunics by officers throughout the war. This shirt followed the same general pattern as the enlisted version but was tailored in finer-quality fabric and with a neater finish suitable for officers’ service and semi-formal wear.
The British Officers’ collarless shirt is made from medium-weight khaki cotton poplin (approx. 6–6.5 oz per square yard), the material is tightly woven, smooth, and breathable — lighter and more refined than the enlisted flannel issue. The shirt features a short stand (band) collar to attach a detachable starched collar, a half-button front placket, and long sleeves with button cuffs. Designed for both comfort and smartness, it was standard issue among British and Commonwealth officers from 1939 to 1945.
