The Austro-Hungarian infantry service tunic of the First World War was a practical yet distinctive garment that reflected the dual monarchy’s complex military traditions. Introduced as part of the 1908 feldgrau reforms, it was the standard field wear of soldiers on the Eastern and Italian fronts.
