This reproduction of the U.S. Army Infantry Coatee from the War of 1812 is made from fine dark blue wool broadcloth with scarlet red facings on the standing collar and cuffs, true to early American military dress. The coat features nine pewter or brass buttons down the front, with horizontal white worsted wool lace across the chest, cuffs, and tails — denoting an enlisted infantry pattern. The short front and long swallow-tailed back reflect Napoleonic influences seen in early U.S. uniforms. White piping accents the seams and shoulder straps, maintaining historical authenticity. The coatee is fully lined in cotton or linen for comfort and accuracy.
