Our WW1 Australian AIF Breeches (Wool & Bedford Cord – Reproduction)
These breeches are a faithful reproduction of the WW1 Australian Imperial Force (AIF) mounted and infantry breeches, issued throughout the Great War. Designed for durability and comfort, they were worn by both foot soldiers and the mounted units of the Light Horse regiments.
Our reproduction is available in two historically accurate fabric options:
-
Khaki-drab wool for general issue and infantry wear.
-
Khaki Bedford cord (a hard-wearing ribbed cotton) favored by officers and mounted troops for its strength and comfort.
The breeches feature a high waist, button fly, and loose fit through the thighs, tapering below the knees for wear with puttees or riding boots. Reinforced inner thigh panels provide extra durability for mounted service, while sturdy stitching ensures long-lasting use.
These breeches are essential for completing an authentic WW1 Australian or ANZAC uniform, making them ideal for reenactors, collectors, and museum displays.
