Irish Cavalry Tunic (Household Cavalry / Dragoon Guards / Yeomanry types)
Type: Cavalry — mounted regiment (not part of the Foot Guards).
Color: Dark blue (navy or “royal blue”) tunic, not scarlet.
Facings: Vary by regiment, usually scarlet or buff collars and cuffs.
Buttons: Spaced singly down the front (not grouped).
Trim: Heavier gold cord and lace ornamentation — including front loops (“Austrian knots”) and chest cords for mounted full dress.
Collar: Tall and stiff, heavily embroidered with regimental lace.
Cuffs: Smaller “Austrian” knot cuff decorations in gold cord.
Shoulder cords: Thick twisted gold cords (mounted officer style), not flat straps.
Lining: silk
