This set is an accurate reproduction of the 1940 pattern U.S. Army blue denim fatigue uniform, consisting of the work shirt (or jacket), matching trousers, and the iconic “Daisy Mae” denim hat. Originally introduced before World War II, this utilitarian ensemble was worn by U.S. Army personnel during training, field maintenance, and non-combat duties.
The shirt (often called the M1937 or early M1940 denim jacket) is made from sturdy indigo-blue cotton denim, featuring a button front with four metal / brown composite buttons, one breast pocket with flap, and two lower patch pockets. The straight-cut design allows freedom of movement and durability, while reinforced stitching ensures long service life.
The trousers are cut from the same indigo denim fabric, with a high waist, button fly, side and rear pockets, and belt loops. They are generously cut for comfort and ventilation during fieldwork, matching perfectly with the fatigue shirt.
