WW1 British Army Shell Tunic (Service Dress Blouse) 1902 Pattern

This reproduction of the WW1 British army shell tunic is made from khaki serge wool, following the 1902 pattern issued to officers and other ranks. designed for field service, the tunic features a plain front with five general service brass buttons, pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps, and two lower patch pockets. the collar is of the stand-and-fall type, sometimes worn with rank pips and regimental insignia. shoulder straps are stitched and buttoned at the collar end. this garment became the standard combat and service tunic throughout the First World War and into the 1930s.
