This is a finely tailored reproduction of the British Army officer’s Home Service Dress Tunic, as worn during the late Victorian period, including the Anglo-Zulu War era (c.1879). Constructed in scarlet melton wool, it features dark blue (almost black) collar and cuffs, gold piping, and regulation frogging on the cuffs. The tunic is single-breasted with eight gilt regimental buttons down the front, edged with gold cord piping, and fitted with shoulder cords in gold lace.
