The WW2 German Medical Tent (Sanitätszelt) manufactured by us is in the same specifications as the ones used in WW2, and it was the standard field shelter used by the Wehrmacht’s medical corps for first-aid stations, casualty holding areas, and mobile surgical posts. It was larger than the standard officer’s tent and designed to be easily identifiable with large red cross markings painted on white canvas panels.
Constructed of heavy cotton duck canvas, the medical tent was typically issued in field-grey / tan canvas (both options are available), with detachable white/red cross ( can be selected) panels for recognition under the Geneva Convention. The design was rectangular with vertical sidewalls and a high peaked roof, maximizing interior space for stretchers, cots, and medical equipment.
It was usually deployed close to the front lines but far enough for relative safety, transported by truck, and erected by medical personnel with assistance.
