The Highland Inverness Cape is a classic full-length military cloak associated with Scottish regiments from the Victorian through WWII eras. Designed for officers and pipers, it was worn over the doublet or service tunic to provide warmth and weather protection without restricting the movement of arms. Made of heavy wool melton or barathea in navy blue or dark grey, the Inverness Cape features a sleeveless over-shoulder cape section, a full front overlap with concealed buttons, and a high stand collar. Traditionally lined in cotton drill or satin, it was both functional in the field and striking in formal wear.
