This is our replication of the WWII British Army Pattern 1937 Battle Dress Uniform (P37 BDU) which was the standard combat uniform worn by British and Commonwealth forces throughout the Second World War. Introduced officially in 1938–39 to replace the older service dress, it was designed for functionality, comfort, and easy mass production while maintaining a smart military appearance.
This complete set includes the P37 battledress blouse (tunic), P37 battledress trousers, and either a Field Service (FS) / General Service (GS) cap (both are available), forming the essential wartime field uniform. The entire set is made from authentic khaki serge wool ( 100% natural fibers, 85% wool, mill dyed khaki, 650 gsm wt., no modern synthetics used) — a coarse, tightly woven cloth offering warmth, durability, and wind resistance.
The battledress blouse features a short waist-length cut with a fly-front button closure, two pleated chest pockets with concealed buttons, and an integral waist belt with buckle. The trousers are high-waisted, with button fly, belt loops, rear pocket, and the distinctive large map pocket on the left thigh. The cap (FS for early-war, GS for mid-to-late war) is made from matching khaki wool serge with a cotton drill lining and brass buttons at the front.
This reproduction faithfully recreates the P37 set issued from 1939 through 1945, capturing the true fit, fabric, and detailing of the British Army’s most iconic uniform.
