Authentic reproduction of the WWI Austro-Hungarian Infantry Uniform, featuring field-grey (Hechtgrau) wool tunic and matching trousers. Includes standing collar, patch pockets, and correct wartime tailoring — as worn by k.u.k. soldiers of the Dual Monarchy during the Great War.

The Austro-Hungarian Army uniform of World War I reflected both tradition and modernization within the Imperial and Royal (k.u.k.) forces. Introduced just before the outbreak of the war, it replaced earlier colorful parade dress with more practical field attire suitable for trench and mountain warfare.

  • Historical Accuracy: Meticulously reproduced from original examples and period regulations.

  • Material: Heavy field-grey (Hechtgrau) wool, providing warmth and durability in campaign conditions.

  • Design Features:

    • Tunic (Waffenrock): High stand-up collar with branch-colored piping, button-front closure, and four patch pockets with scalloped flaps.

    • Trousers: Straight-cut wool trousers, designed for wear with puttees or boots.

    • Insignia: Collar patches (Parolis) in distinctive branch colors — infantry, artillery, cavalry, etc.

    • Headgear: Typically worn with the iconic Pike Grey field cap (Kappenabzeichen) or steel helmet (from 1916 onward).

  • Usage: Standard issue for Austro-Hungarian infantry, artillery, and support units on the Eastern, Italian, and Balkan fronts.

  • Historical Context: The field-grey uniform symbolized the modernization of the k.u.k. Army, serving a multinational force drawn from across the empire — Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, Galicia, and beyond.

This reproduction is ideal for reenactors, collectors, museums, and film productions, offering a faithful representation of the Austro-Hungarian soldier’s appearance during World War I.
