Our M1915 Horizon Blue Side Cap (bonnet de police Mle 1915)caps are a faithful reproduction of what became the standard field headgear for the French Army after the introduction of the horizon blue uniform in 1915.

It is made from the same Horizon Blue wool that we make the rest of our Horizon blue uniforms in to maintain conformity. The horizon blue wool that we use is 100% natural, correct in color, 14 oz. wt., tight weave, mill dyed (not vat dyed) and accurate for the era. The cap features a simple, soft construction with a fold-down side flap that provided additional warmth when lowered. The crown is gently rounded, with a pointed front that gives the cap its distinctive shape. A small reinforcing band ran around the base for durability. Cap can be ordered plain or we will embroider your unit number in bullion embroidery for no extra charge.
