An accurate reproduction of the British Army wooden water bottle issued with the 1871 Pattern Valise Equipment during the Anglo-Zulu War (1879). The bottle is made from coopered staves of hardwood, banded with tin or brass hoops, and fitted with a leather shoulder strap for field carry. The top features a cork stopper with securing cord, ensuring authenticity and usability.

Used by British infantry throughout colonial campaigns, this canteen was typically carried on the left hip, opposite the haversack. Its durable, simple design made it ideal for tropical and field service conditions.
