This French Army cone tent (tente conique) manufactured is  the WW2 French cone tent in the non-bell design and  was a traditional multi-man shelter with roots going back to the 19th century. Characterized by its circular base and single central pole, the design resembled a bell tent or teepee, providing excellent ventilation and weather resistance.

Made of khaki  canvas, the tent was durable, waterproof, and easily identified in French and colonial encampments. Its circular floor plan allowed for efficient accommodation of large groups, making it especially useful for barracks-style living or as unit-level shelters.

Cone tents were commonly used in WW1 and interwar France, and many continued in service during WW2 — particularly in rear-area camps, training grounds, and colonial outposts.
