The Zeltbahn 31 flysheet manufactured by us is a great replication of the iconic and distinctive, practical items issued to German soldiers during WW2. Officially known as the Zeltbahn 31, it is a triangular cotton canvas shelter quarter that functioned as a multi-purpose item: poncho, groundsheet, rain cape, or part of a tent when buttoned together with other sections.
We manufacture this in the distinctive splittertarn (splinter camouflage) or plain field-grey canvas (you can choose either in the product selection menu), the Zeltbahn is designed for versatility in the field. Each soldier carried one sheet, and by buttoning several together, soldiers could construct a two-man lean-to shelter, a four-man tent, or larger fieldworks. The grommets, buttons, and reinforced edges allowed it to be quickly assembled into many configurations.
Its practicality and iconic camouflage pattern made the Zeltbahn one of the most recognizable pieces of Wehrmacht field gear, used across all fronts.
