Our 1903/1907 Pattern Canadian Army (CEF) Breeches and trousers reproductions are for the mounted and service use respectively. They were used extensively by the Canadian Army (CEF) in the ETO and Trenches during the Great War. They are constructed from durable khaki wool (less than 16 oz. wt. , tight weave, 100% natural fibres, mill dyed – not vat dyed like most of our competitors), these breeches feature the distinctive tapered cut at the calf designed to be worn with puttees/leg wraps or leather gaiters, while offering a looser thigh fit for comfort and mobility. Reinforced inner leg panels provide extra durability for mounted troops, and the high waistband with button fly closure reflects the original tailoring, the trouser end are slightly turned up to prevent erosion.
100% Authentic details are provided which include side adjustment tabs with zinc buttons, brace (suspender) buttons (8-14), and buttoned pockets, all executed to period specifications. The wool fabric replicates the correct weave and tone of the CEF issue, making these breeches a reliable choice for collectors, re-enactors, Living history afficianados, films, movies and museums seeking historically accurate Canadian WW1 uniforms.
