The M1942 Tent manufactured by us was a standard U.S. Army field tent introduced in World War II to replace earlier wall and squad tents. Designed for squads or small unit groups, it was more portable than the large M1934 pyramidal tent yet offered more interior space than the small pup tent.
The tent was rectangular with a peaked roof, supported by two uprights and a ridgepole. The M1942 tent is constructed from olive drab cotton duck canvas, it is treated for water resistance and features reinforced edges, grommets, and tie-down points just like the originals. It could be erected quickly with guy ropes and stakes, making it practical for both temporary encampments and semi-permanent posts.
It saw extensive use in Europe, North Africa, and the Pacific theater, often serving as troop housing, small field offices, or equipment shelters.
