This reproduction represents the rare and historically significant Canadian 1903 Pattern Service Dress, worn by troops of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the early years of World War I. The tunic is made from khaki-brown serge wool, featuring a stand-and-fall collar, pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps, lower patch pockets, and five brass CEF general service buttons. Shoulder straps are fastened with small buttons, and the interior is partially lined with brown cotton drill. Metal badges/insignia not included and may be extra.
Matching breeches are tailored in heavy khaki wool serge with reinforced seat and inner thighs, side buttons, and calf lacing for wear with puttees. The puttees are made from woven wool serge in khaki drab, approximately 9 feet long, designed to wrap securely around the lower leg in classic WWI fashion. Together, this set recreates the authentic field appearance of early-war Canadian troops serving in Britain and France.
