Our WW1 U.S. Army officers’ ankle-high lace-up service boots are in polished brown leather. Featuring cap toes with brogue detail, 7-eyelet lacing, and leather soles, these boots were privately purchased and worn with breeches, puttees, or gaiters in the field. The leather for these boots is naturally tanned, approx. 0.9 mm thick, naturally pigmented, top grain, highly polished, brown leather. There are leather laces, the uppers are stitched by hand and are in the brogue design with pattern near the toe. The sole and the upper are hand lasted, so the entire boot is hand made. Boots are ankle high.
They can be purchased with/without the officer breeches/jodhpurs in OD wool . Custom tailoring facility for breeches available. The wool is 100% natural fibers (about 82% wool, balance cotton/linen waste incipient, mill dyed, about 12 oz., tight weave, warm) fabric and is tailored with natural threads in the same colors. The breeches feature a button fly, notched raised back, 2 front slit pockets, reinforced crotch & seams, flared till the knee, tapering towards the ankle.
Puttees are wool, 8.5′ X 3.5″ with cotton tape ties for binding.
